About MDR9K
In this 1-4 player, couch co-op, roguelike party game, you play as combatants being teleported against their will into a life-threatening arena by the scary, yet charismatic, "General". With his prototyped teleportation technology malfunctioning, he sends wacky and unlikely environments from across the multiverse to merge onto the arena as the levels progress.

Experience fast progression, permanent powerups, and procedurally generated levels commonly found in the roguelike genre. However, rather than exploring larger areas in longer levels, you must instead survive with your team in a small top-down arena. This arena will shift and glitch between environments for two minutes while waves of enemies are sent by the General to test you. It’s life or death, and the General is waiting for you at the end!

Game Features
Characters
Choose Your Character
The game has a wide variety of characters. All of characters are unique from each other. Each player is able to select a character of their choice.
Enemies
Wide Variety of Robotic Enemies
Each level requires surviving for 2 minutes against waves of enemies that last about 10 seconds. These short-timed waves keep the action moving. The levels are rectangular and fill the screen, so the camera does not move. This allows couch co-op AND no split screen.
Power Ups
Create Your Own Build
As a roguelike, its simple strategy, team planning, and long replay-ability increase the fun with friends. Roguelike gameplay also accomplishes the goal of keeping the game fun for all skill levels. If you aren’t highly skilled at the game, then you may acquire strong powerups and fast progression to make your actions feel more significant. Meanwhile, if you are good at the game, you can have fun creating overpowered builds and help your friends.
Shop
Choose Carefully
A shop will appear after every 2-minute level that will give each player an option to select one of four randomly selected upgrades, OR they can select no upgrade. Each player is offered their own unique selection of upgrades. The UI options for all four players will be on the screen at the same time.
